Beware the Great Crusade Continues:
FREE Rain International and Shear Love International are leading the charge.
This is a warning to all bar owners and staff in Pattaya, Thailand. The Great Crusade will continue this week throughout Valentine’s Day. Western Evangelical NGOs continue to crusade against hard-working Thais. They are determined to recruit young Thai ladies for inexpensive labor while exploiting a false narrative for financial donations from American Evangelical churches. They trick individuals into working in their hair salons and bakeries while forcing them to deny Buddhism. These Crusaders are on a mission to make money and destroy the Buddhist religion.
One of the Great Crusaders is an NGO called FREE Rain International. Beware of these Crusaders. According to their website, they infiltrate bars in “red light districts.” Even though the government in Thailand refers to these areas as “entertainment districts,” these Crusaders desire to force their customs, traditions, and most of all their religion upon Thai Buddhists. Once again, according to their website, they state:
Over time, we invite them to outreach parties where we get them out of the bar to enjoy good food and community. Giving them a safe place to get to know good-hearted people is the chance for them to taste the abundance waiting for them if they leave their life and choose freedom.
Why do they believe working Thai ladies want to leave the bar? Why do they believe that their Western food is what Thai ladies want to eat? It is NOT what they want to eat. Thai women seldom chose Western food. The arrogance of these Great Crusaders is appalling. Also, to say they are not in a good community. What an insult! The working staff in Thailand’s entertainment districts build wonderful relationships with customers and other bar personnel. The very notion that bar staff are unsafe is demeaning and self-aggrandizing on the part of the American church. This Crusading organization called FREE Rain International has a specific agenda. They perpetuate a false narrative that these women are trapped and have no joy in their workplace. This is simply false. Thai women build wonderful relationships with customers, many find these men to be caring and giving, thus allowing the lady to support her family. But FREE Rain does not care about Thai Buddhists, they only care about making money and destroying Buddhism.
“We meet these men and women where they are, trusting that love can transform and lead them into a better life.”
This is a narcissistic Western Evangelical statement. They believe that it’s their way only. This is where Buddhists ought to be cautious. Evangelical Theology believes there is only one way, and that’s their way. It would be commendable if these evangelicals cared about individuals, but they are just using religion to make more money for themselves. They condemn good hard hard-working Buddhists for trying to earn a living, while American Evangelical leaders are being reported with multiple women and many times young children. These Crusaders have no moral compass, they are on a mission to destroy Buddhism because then they will have power over the Thai workforce.
FREE Rain International clings to its false narrative while attacking customers who are predominately men. They espouse an inaccurate narrative that these men visit or live in Pattaya because they have experienced horrible circumstances in their lives. Their website states:
“Whether it be abuse, abandonment, or trauma, the men our team have encountered each have deep wounds that they are attempting to heal through manufactured and forced relationships. Many of the men don’t even realize they are directly participating and perpetuating the trafficking and exploitation of those most vulnerable.”
This is a pretty abstract statement that is founded on absolutely no factual evidence. There might be a few individuals that fit this description, however, to label every man who steps foot in Pattaya’s entertainment districts has been abused and is only looking for manufactured healing is a devious perpetuation of the truth. FREE Rain goes a lot further by implementing these men as human traffickers. It is plain and simple why this organization so brazenly misrepresents the truth. They fabricate stories and they use over-the-top hyperbole to support a false narrative. The leaders of this cult-like organization do not believe the rhetoric they are spewing, they use the false narrative to illicit free volunteers from America, and to induce good-hearted, but misinformed evangelical Christians into giving them money.
“Each area of the red light districts has a heavy atmosphere of darkness, but we are out on an incredible mission to be a light in the darkness. The exploitation of humans is unjust and it is time to take a stand together for freedom.”
Once again this is an over-the-top statement on their website. I am not sure what they mean about a “heavy atmosphere of darkness.” There tends to be a lot of laughing and singing going on in these establishments. So, once again, I am not sure what they are referring to by “darkness.” The working staff and customers are for the most part having a good time. Of course, there’s an exception here or there, but to label the entire district as dark is once again an egregious misrepresentation of the truth. Let it be known, that these CRUSADERS are out for money and power. They have made it clear they will do whatever it takes to force Buddhist men and women to succumb to their evil intentions. They will stand together united with one goal and one mission. Make Money and Destroy Buddhism.
This Evangelical CULT has a program in Pattaya called Shear Love International. They made a short propagandistic film about “SECTION SIX” in Pattaya.
Featured on NBC, SECTION SIX focuses on one story out of the 150,000 men, women and children that sell their bodies in the red light districts of Pattaya, Thailand. This film follows the story of a young woman that was rescued from Section Six by Shear Love International. Rather than casting an actress, we worked with a women that works in the red light district to get us access to the brothels of Section Six for this film”

This film is filled with a bevy of misleading facts which cultivates a false narrative. This film belittles hard-working Thai ladies and their customers. It is narcissistic propagandistic nonsense. The film didn’t follow the story of a young lady. It was a voice-over narration that led the viewer down an inaccurate portrayal of what her life is truly like. The portrayal of this young lady with a sad expression throughout the short film is far from what really occurs. Furthermore, she was paid to be a prop in their propagandistic evangelical theology. This is a blatant attack on owners, bar staff, customers, and Thai culture as a whole. Once again, this is their plan! Make Money and Destroy Buddhism.
FREE Rain and Shear Love International is on a GREAT CRUSADE against Thailand. They actively recruit CRUSADERS to help them wage this vicious unwarranted attack on Pattaya. They advertise for help! This is another part of their money-making scheme. They charge a fee to train CRUSADERS to attack Pattaya. They boast of using United States FBI Agents to train their small army of invaders. They train for three whole days. This is where the story begins to make sense. They claim those who desire to comprehend and combat trafficking will be equipped to effectively fight the injustices of sexual exploitation and will go into places where men, women, and children are sold for sex. This is where their true intentions are manifested. There is no possible way a “volunteer cowboy” can train for only 3 days with no prior experience and have the ability to go in and do what well-trained Thai police officers and other law enforcement agencies can’t do. This is the TRUE NARRATIVE. They bring good-hearted well-intentioned individuals into a money-making training scheme and for three to ten days they are brainwashed, sent into bars to recruit inexpensive labor, and then go back to their homes and pilfer money for NGOs. Thai bar staff come and go at their own free will. They are not slaves and they are not being trafficked.

These CRUSADERS look to indoctrinate volunteers to go back to their home country and solicit money for their organization. They misrepresent Thai culture and the Buddhist religion. FREE RAIN and SHEAR LOVE use abstract statements and misleading images to falsify the truth and the reality of what happens within Pattaya’s entertainment districts. They offer unlivable wages in their beauty salons and bakeries. They provide no solutions for the poverty these young women may face if they leave the appealing and lucrative job opportunities they have. They villainize men they do not know. They use misleading facts suggesting that all men experience trauma, and they create a false narrative that the interactions between bar staff and customers are neither enjoyable nor safe. This just isn’t the truth. But, once again these CRUSADING Evangelical NGOs are not about telling you the truth, they lie and mislead because they are after inexpensive labor and donations. BEWARE, IT’S A CRUSADE AGAINST BUDDHISM.
