I very much want freedom and restoration for trafficking victims. However, when an organization misleads church communities, schools, and law enforcement agencies into believing that they are on the front lines of doing God’s work, this is a problem. The Exodus Road doesn’t claim to be faith based, this is what Matt and Laura Parker will tell you. Nice name for not being faith based. Your biggest supporters are churches. You pull at the heart strings of innocent individuals sitting in pews week after week. You prey upon young college students in an attempt to exploit their desire for social justice. You misrepresent what God has come to do. You don’t actually help the poor, and the needy. You look for “soft targets,” such as, beer bars in tourist areas. Once again, I do not morally agree with beer bars and younger women begging for attention and drinks in these establishments. However, these bars are legally operated under the laws of the country they are operating within. Almost every one of these bars and the girls working there are following the law of the land. However, Matt and Laura Parker from the Exodus Road want to use sensationalism! They want to put pictures and images of these girls in front of church members. Matt and Laura live the high life. They live in luxury while exploiting communities of need.
The problem with a “good heart,” or a well-intentioned mission is that it’s sometimes wrong. What I found to be true was, various leaders of this organization were enjoying the good life of being able to raise millions in funding. It was easy for them to manipulate a horrendous crime upon humanity for their personal gain. Yes! Child Sex Trafficking does occur, however, there needs to be a better strategy going forward. There needs to be standards set, and NGOs need to explain why such exorbitant salaries go to a very few individuals and their families.
A little information from my time spent as a “Volunteer Cowboy Investigator.” Let me explain to you the facts that I found. I was told all of these bars we were investigating were filled with young girls there against their will. They were being trafficked or exploited. However, this is not what I found to be true. In nine months I never found a girl that needed nor wanted our help.
NGOs cross the line of humanitarian credibility when they use each and every girl for monetary gain. Pictures and videos of girls shown working in the bars are deemed as “victims,” or “sex slaves.” This is not the case! Every girl working in the bars my team and I investigated were free to come and go as they pleased. These girls were there making money. The girls I spoke with expressed the need to make money, and the freedom they had working in the bar.
Once again, it’s all about the MONEY!!! They say human trafficking is a 150 Billion Dollar business. They may be true, and unfortunately many individuals are making a lot of money by exploited young children, girls and anyone else they can profit from. There are many individuals held captive. It’s time to fight for them. But for Matt and Laura, it’s about the money as well!!!! Oh, hell yes they love the damn money. Matt and Laura are two disgusting human beings. They make millions a year profiting from fake rescues and the narrative of individuals who are suffering. So, I say this…… Matt and Laura you make me puke when I hear your name.
